NHS App
Use the NHS App to manage your care
The NHS App is a simple, secure way to access NHS services on your smartphone or tablet. It is free, available 24/7, and helps you manage your health without needing to phone the surgery.
With the NHS App you can:
- Order repeat prescriptions
- View messages from your GP practice and the NHS
- See test results and letters (where available)
- Check appointments
- Use NHS 111 online
- View your NHS number
You can download the NHS App from the App Store or Google Play, or access the same services via the NHS website:

Why turning notifications ON matters
Many important messages from your GP practice are now sent through the NHS App.
You will only be alerted to these messages if notifications are turned on.
Notifications can tell you when:
- You receive a new message from your GP or the NHS
- Test results or documents are added
- You are invited for vaccinations or screening
- There are updates about your care
If notifications are switched off, you may miss important information.
How to turn on NHS App notifications
Quick steps
- Open the NHS App
- Tap Account
- Select Notifications
- Follow the link to your phone’s settings and allow notifications
- Close and reopen the app to confirm
If you use the NHS App on more than one device, notifications need to be enabled on each device. Changes can take up to 24 hours to take effect.
