Covid Vaccinations

Update 25th May 2021

5,250 Patients have had their first vaccination, and 3,416 have had their second.

We are spending a lot of time chasing patients who we have sent a text invite to who don’t respond top the text message. If you get a text invite from us and you are already booked in to have your 1st or 2nd vaccination elsewhere please go into the text and DECLINE – you are declining the invite from Crich Medical Practice and not declining the vaccination where you are booked in to. Many thanks

From 17 May 2021, people in England who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can demonstrate their vaccination status for international travel. A full course is currently two doses of any approved vaccine. Vaccine status will be available from:

  • the NHS App which you can download from app stores
  • the NHS website (from 17 May 2021)

It may take more than a week for your identity to be checked and verified so you can use these services.

If you cannot access these online services, and you have had two vaccines, you can request a paper letter from the NHS by calling 119. Only call 119 if you had your second dose more than five working days ago. It may take seven working days for the letter to arrive.

This practice is not able to provide you with a letter that shows your COVID-19 vaccination status.

When you’re planning your travel, check the latest information on demonstrating your COVID-19 status when travelling abroad on the gov.uk website. Make sure there is time to get  proof of your vaccination status before you leave.

Update 6th April 2021 – 4770 of our patients have now had their first covid vaccination, and 725 have had their second.

Update 16/03/2021 – 3181 patients have now had their first covid vaccination, and 150 have had their second.

Update 01/03/2021 – there are now 2807 of our patients who have had their first Covid vaccination – this is at all vaccination locations. This week patients who are due for their second vaccine are being invited to book in. The surgery is still swamped with phone calls from patients asking when they will get their vaccination – this is preventing us from dealing with the day-to-day health issues of other patients. The only people we want to ring in are those over the age of 66 who haven’t had their first vaccination, or patients who have had their first vaccination 10 weeks ago and haven’t had an invite for their second (which needs doing by week 12). Thanks – Simon Barraclough, Practice Manager

Update 10/02/2021 – there are now 1765 of our patients who have had their first Covid vaccination. These vaccinations carried out at Crich Surgery, our Hub in Ripley, or at other vaccination sites in Derby or Chesterfield etc.

If you are 70 or older and have not had your first covid vaccination, and you want your first covid vaccination, and do not currently have an appointment to have a first vaccination, please ring the surgery (after 10am) so we can make sure you are not missed.

For everyone who has had their first covid vaccination, please do not ring the Practice to ask when your second vaccination will be, it is all being planned.

Thank you

Simon Barraclough – Practice Manager

Update 02/02/2021 – there are now 1257 patients who have had their first Covid vaccination. This week we are concentrating on the clinically extremely vulnerable and invites have also gone out to patients over the age of 74 by text message – patients who don’t book in through this route will be rung by a Receptionist.

Update 20/01/2021 – so far there have been 621 of our patients who have received their first Covid vaccination. This includes care home residents and most of the over 80 year olds. This week we are vaccinating 44 patients who are housebound, and this weekend over 150 patients (aged 78+) are attending our vaccination centre in Ripley.

Simon Barraclough – Practice Manager

Update 08/01/2021 – We are continuing to book in the over 80’s into our Ripley Hub for the Pfizer covid vaccination – and I am still awaiting to be told when I might receive the Oxford AZ vaccine which we will be able to give at our 3 surgeries. As well as ringing patients to book in for their vaccine, we are testing the Accubook booking system so we can text patients so they can book themselves in. How will you know the text is from us? You will see your name – and it will tell you your date of birth – and all you will do is pick a date and time. It will not ask for any details from you, no credit card numbers etc.

We are also struggling with calls from patients asking for the vaccination, or asking to be moved up the queue. When it is your turn (through age or health condition) we will contact you.

Also to confirm that those patients who have had the first covid vaccine will not get the second dose this weekend. Patient will be rung in time to postpone their appointment this weekend.

Update 06/01/2021 – We are continuing to book in the oldest and most vulnerable patients in to the vaccination centre in Ripley for the Pfizer covid vaccine. Once we get notified of our delivery of the Oxford covid vaccine we will also start to vaccinate in our 3 surgeries, although currently I have no delivery dates. We are getting phone calls from patients asking for the vaccine – but we will call you when it is your turn. Be wary of any texts or emails pretending to be from the NHS asking for your personal details to have the vaccine, we will contact you.
